Level 1 Foundations with Dr. Lolo, DPT is a 90 minute class that provides students with the tools to create a deeper vinyasa yoga practice grounded in proper alignment and learn the safety of exercise science.
As I always say, prevention is key. When performing any physical activity or transitional movement it is vital to be mindful of one's body mechanics. Meniscus tear, ligament rupture, rotator cuff strain, fracture, loss of balance, falls...accidents happen...but some do not need to when you bring awareness to your practice through the mind and breathe- simply aligning your body, grounding yourself and engaging your dynamic energy within. To educate the mind on the whys will help bring this mindfulness into your practice automatically... eventually you will be able to deepen your practice by having autonomic control over your movements- core, pelvic tilts, inhaling on the ups exhaling on the down, signs, and symptoms of cervical instability or reduced blood flow. There are many things one can learn to stay safe- and the way Dr. Lolo teaches- is unforgettable!!! You will love every moment of class and truly understand the science behind proper body alignment.
